  • by

Happy New year!

What a better way to start 2022 than with some exciting bookish news! Like, all the 2022 new releases we should add to our TBRs!

NEW RELEASES

Here are some of my favorites, in order of publication date:

Maiden to Mother: Unlocking Our Archetypal Journey into the Mature Feminine
Ramón and Julieta
Mestiza Blood
Girl on Fire
Waking Romeo
When You Get the Chance
Cold the Night, Fast the Wolves
Edgewood
How High We Go in the Dark
Violeta
Lesser Known Monsters of the 21st Century
Mirror Girls
Bitter
Only a Monster
Wakers
Sundial
Gallant
The Lost Dreamer
Tell Me an Ending
One Italian Summer

As usual, I’m particularly excited about all the Magical Realism and Hispanic books (The Hacienda, Violeta, Together We Burn, and Lesser Known Monsters of the 21st Century) but also about the ARCs I received for two books set in Rhode Island, a dear New England state: Deep in Providence and Ocean State.

BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS

January’s must-reads are STATION ELEVEN – NOW AN HBO MAX SERIES, TOP 16 BOOKS TO READ FOR NATIONAL SCIENCE FICTION DAY, 24 WINTER BOOKS TO READ THIS SEASON and two 5-star January new releases:

Then, other news to be excited about are all the upcoming screen adaptations!

2022 SCREEN ADAPTATIONS

All Quiet on the Western Front

'Salem's Lot
The Stars at Noon
The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry

The School for Good and Evil

Even though I don’t read Stephen King’s books, all King’s movies are a must-watch, so looking forward to ‘Salem’s Lot and, naturally, beyond excited about season 3 of A Discovery of Witches since I loved the two first seasons, the adaptations of all-time favorite Sci-Fi/Time Travel Kindred and The Time Traveler’s Wife, and about returning to the fantastic universe of Game of Thrones with Fire & Blood, A Targaryen History. A lot to look forward to! For now, let’s enjoy these trailers…
