8 REASONS TO ADD “READING” TO YOUR NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS
Well, it’s that time of the year! Time for New Year’s resolutions!
So, of course I want to share the one resolution I have every year: more books reading!
Yes, surprisingly, I don’t want to talk about “books”, but about “reading”. Because before books, came reading. I fell in love with reading waaaay before I fell in love with books. Actually, I love books BECAUSE I love reading. I’m convinced reading makes us better human beings and, consequently, it makes the world a better place. So, I want to share a few reasons why I think “reading” should be on everyone’s New Year’s resolutions:
Reading is a great way to…
- Beat boredom and pass time. Reading is a much more affordable and safer way to getting to know other people and places.
- Acquire knowledge, abilities, skills and, therefore, improve the quality of ours lives.
- Makes us more mindful, emphatic, understanding and kinder.
- Chill out and relax
- Beat the blues since it can help manage stress, anxiety, and even depression.
- Improve cognitive functions like perception, attention, memory, decision making, and language comprehension.
- Improve vocabulary, writing and communication skills.
- Adopt a literary lifestyle, which also has MANY benefits. So many, it needs it’s own post! Coming soon!
Is reading more one of your New Year’s resolutions? Why? Let me know in the comments.
